RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES FOR SALEOur DEA's (Domestic Energy Assessors) will survey your house and, using the Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure (RdSAP), provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Our DEA will also provide Recommendations on how to improve the home's energy efficiency to save you money as well as helping the environment: these improvements will vary dependent upon the property's type of construction and heating system and can be pointed out when marketing your home to potential buyers.
From 01 Oct 2008, all residential properties require an EPC when placed on the rental market. Landlords will have to provide an EPC for prospective tenants on any new residential letting (although not for existing tenants). This EPC will be valid for 10 years and all lettings within the 10 year period will be able to make use of the same EPC. The law states that a landlord must show the EPC to any prospective tenant.
Tenants are likely to consider the EPC and recommendation report when choosing a rental property, so there is an incentive for landlords to carry out energy saving measures and obtain the best rating possible. If improvements are made to a property after the EPC is carried out, a further assessment can be made by us at a reduced rate.
